The Winter Show is America’s premier art, antiques, and design fair, showcasing many of the world’s leading professionals in the fine and decorative arts. The Fair began in the mid-1950s as a fundraiser for the East Side House Settlement and had firmly established itself as the major event of its sort in the United States by the end of that decade. East Side House is a community-based organisation that serves the Bronx and Northern Manhattan. Its programmes emphasise education and technology as means of escaping poverty and gaining economic opportunity. The proceeds from the Show’s ticket sales go entirely to East Side House’s life-changing programmes.
The 69th edition of The Winter Show will be hosted in the historic Park Avenue Armoury, where over 65 internationally known dealers will show works spanning 5,000 years. Paintings and works on paper, fine furniture and design, jewellery, and modern ceramics and glass will all be on display. The Fair’s exhibitors provide works of the greatest standards of authenticity and quality in the industry, thanks to rigorous vetting practises carried out by a committee of 120 specialists.
